Meri Fasal Mera Byora portal will reopen for farmers in Haryana from September 21 to September 27. The state government announced this on Sunday, September 20. The step is meant for farmers who missed the registration window for the Kharif 2026 season.
The decision matters because paddy procurement is scheduled to begin on October 1. Farmers who are not registered on the portal have been struggling to take part in it.
Why has Haryana reopened the Meri Fasal Mera Byora portal?
The state agriculture and farmers welfare department took the decision. It followed representations from farmers who could not register their crops in the stipulated period. Those farmers then faced difficulty in taking part in procurement, according to Hindustan Times. State government spokesperson said the portal will stay open for seven days.
All eligible farmers can register during the window. There are two ways to do it:
- Enter details of agricultural land and crops on the portal
- Visit the office of the concerned sub divisional magistrate (SDM) civil and get the details registered there
The state has asked farmers to give complete and accurate details. Wrong or incomplete entries can cause problems during verification. They can also create trouble later, when farmers sell their produce.
Officials will check the details in two ways for verification. They will use satellite data and also carry out field inspections. The concerned SDM (civil) will complete the verification within a maximum of three days.
The administration made one point clear. A crop registration on the portal will count as valid only after this verification is complete.
Nearly 9 lakh farmers have registered 57 lakh acres of crops including Paddy, Cotton, Bajra and other crops so far. The latest district wise data for Kharif 2026 gives the following picture:

The total area under basmati and non basmati paddy comes to around 34 lakh acres. The government has separately ordered field level verification for the non basmati paddy area. This is to be done before procurement starts on October 1.
What did Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini say about paddy procurement?
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini spoke at a meeting on Sunday at the Babain Market Committee office. The meeting was held in Kurukshetra. Farmers, commission agents, traders, rice millers and administrative officials attended it.
Saini said the government would ensure the purchase of every grain of paddy produced by farmers. CM also warned of strict action against any official found negligent during procurement.
Saini said the portal would be reopened so that farmers who had not registered their crops could do so. He directed food and supplies department officials and the mandi administration to make adequate arrangements. The aim, he said, is to ensure smooth procurement and no inconvenience to farmers.
What should farmers do before September 27?
- Keep land and crop details ready before registering.
- Register on the portal, or visit the SDM (civil) office.
- Check that all entries are accurate and complete.
- Follow up on verification, which is to be completed within three days.
- Confirm that the registration is valid before taking produce to the mandi.
